Donald Trump’s return to the White House has been nothing short of eventful, with sweeping policy changes and executive orders dominating his first month.
From aggressive immigration measures to major federal restructuring, the administration has set a fast-paced agenda that has left lawmakers, citizens, and global leaders reacting in different ways.
Trump’s early days in office have seen a rapid push to implement policies that reflect his long-standing campaign promises.
One of the first major actions taken was the establishment of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), an initiative aimed at slashing federal spending and eliminating regulations.

Elon Musk, who was controversially appointed to lead the department, has already initiated plans to downsize multiple agencies, including USAID, the Department of Education, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
This restructuring move has sparked confusion within federal agencies, with many employees left uncertain about their roles under the new administration.
In addition to these changes, Trump has aggressively targeted immigration policies, taking a hardline stance on undocumented migrants.
The president declared a national emergency at the southern border, deploying armed forces and implementing strict measures to curb illegal crossings.
Among the most controversial orders was the Laken Riley Act, which allows states to sue the federal government for failing to enforce immigration laws.

Another major change came when Trump signed an executive order ending birthright citizenship for children of undocumented immigrants, triggering legal challenges and nationwide debates.
Despite these bold moves, some of Trump’s executive orders have already faced significant pushback from lawmakers and the courts.
A temporary freeze on all federal funding—part of Musk’s cost-cutting measures—was blocked by a federal judge, preventing widespread budget cuts that could have affected key programs.
Internationally, Trump has maintained a close relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin, drawing criticism for his approach to Ukraine.
While expressing satisfaction with U.S.-Russia relations, Trump has reportedly pressured Ukraine into negotiating a minerals deal favorable to American interests.

On the domestic front, Trump’s budget resolution for mass deportations has raised concerns about the potential economic and humanitarian consequences of large-scale removals.
With such drastic changes happening in just a few weeks, reactions from lawmakers have been varied, with many struggling to define Trump’s approach in just one word.
In an exclusive interview, several U.S. senators were asked to sum up Trump’s first month in office in a single word.
Republican Senator Kevin Cramer of North Dakota diplomatically described it as “Active.”

Missouri’s Josh Hawley took a more straightforward approach, calling it “Bold.”
Utah’s John Curtis labeled the administration’s first month as “Aggressive.”
Iowa’s senior senator, Chuck Grassley, compared Trump’s return to power to a force of nature, saying simply, “Hurricane.”
On the other side of the political spectrum, Democratic lawmakers had far less favorable assessments.
Vermont’s Peter Welch accused Trump of going on an “Illegal rampage,” while Delaware’s Chris Coons summed it up as “Terrible.”
With strong opinions on both sides, Trump’s first month in office has already cemented his reputation as a highly polarizing figure.

As his administration continues its aggressive policy rollout, the coming months will determine whether his ambitious agenda will hold or face further resistance.
