A father who participated in the incident makes his first public statement about revealing the truth about his son.
Students from different educational institutions gathered at Kuykendall Stadium to watch the track meet when the violent incident occurred.
Austin and Hunter Metcalf participated in the high school track meet as Frisco Memorial High School student-athletes.
The tragic moment occurred when one of them failed to return home after the night’s events.
The turbulence of the night brought 17-year-old Karmelo Anthony to the chaotic center with his status as a Frisco Centennial High School student.
Multiple witnesses noted that a quick disagreement becomes dangerous but the precise cause of the escalation remains uncertain according to witnesses.
The father of Karmelo Anthony named Andrew Anthony presented a defence of his son to the public.
“Everyone has already made their assumptions,” he told The New York Post. People should reject the false image created about him.
Karmelo is young student with a GPA of 3.7 who maintains two work commitments.
“He was not the aggressor,” he insisted. “He was not the one who started it.”
Reports indicate Karmelo initiated the conflict after another school group requested him to move from beneath their provided tent.
Mid-seated dispute shifted quickly into physical violence after the initial disagreement.
Community members learned about the tragiccontributors to the homicide during a later revelation that Austin Metcalf received a fatal chest stab.
Hunter Metcalf attempted custody but medical personnel had to remove him during the ambulance transport when Austin went to the hospital.
Karmelo allegedly told police, “I was protecting myself,” and was arrested and charged with first-degree murd*r.
At present Karmelo faces detention on a bond amount of one million dollars.
Austin’s grieving father, Jeff Metcalf, said his son had dreams of playing college football and described him as “the most amazing kid.”
The Frisco Independent School District called the incident “unprecedented” and extended its sympathies to all affected.
During the ongoing investigation the two families face dual mourning losses which include the de@th of a human life as well as the innocence of Metcalf.
One parent stands in defence of his son whom he continues to see as wrongly misunderstood by others.
