A traditional weekend celebration transformed into a distressing enigma which currently preoccupies and frightens Internet users worldwide.
Ten people assembled in Argyll and Bute’s remote estate of Scotland to celebrate one friend’s pre-wedding celebration with photographic sceneries and merriment.
The property immersed in woodland and featuring a scenic lake position made it an ideal rural retreat that provided amazing backdrops for photographs.
Everything appeared normal at the campsite between meals and fire storytelling prior to their discovery of disturbing photos taken by the water.
Two pictures at the edge of the lake showed the friends posing calmly by the scenery without revealing any strange activity.
The two images were analyzed later at night when a distinct anomaly caught their complete attention.
The second photograph revealed an unexpected visitor the instant after taking the previous picture.
The young boy hid behind the wood pile near the group as he was nowhere to be seen earlier on the estate grounds.
The group contained no children and everybody had acknowledged that they neither noticed nor listened to any boys anywhere in the region over the weekend.
The friends became alarmed after seeing the image so they flipped to Google to look into the background of the estate.
The situation shifted from disquieting into an absolute terror when everything happened.
They uncovered historical stories through their Internet search about the property which detailed the demise of a young dead boy many years ago after a tragic accident near the estate.
A report detailed how the boy visited the estate for a night which ended with him walking out of the building during a sleeping episode.
The drowning happened after he entered the cold lake water. A medical examination showed his body had turned completely blue from freezing the waters during his recovery.
In 1994 BBC created their TV series The Blue Boy which amplified the local story at the exact film locations that the production team used.
The late Paul Murton from BBC explained to The Herald how this young sleeping child had accompanied his parents to the hotel for vacation.
The boy experienced an excursion outside followed by a diving accident which ended in his drowning. The discovery of his frozen body revealed its skin was a blue colour because of the extreme cold.
“Perhaps more sinister than that,” Murton added, “was the fact that they sometimes found wet footprints upstairs in the corridor.”
Online users who studied the viral photo split into two groups about its authenticity: those who verified its boy features and those who doubted its validity.
Two users said they couldn’t rest at night and a third stated they were shocked beyond belief.
Thousands of people worldwide have engaged in an ongoing discussion about the nature of this photograph because they cannot decide if it shows a ghostly apparition or if it is fake or something else.
The discovery left the friends so disturbed they immediately left the estate during that very night and disappeared forever.
Now, the infamous “eleventh face” continues to circulate across social media, fuelling one of the most disturbing real-life photo mysteries in recent memory.
