Even though the Blue Origin spaceflight lasted only 11 minutes it caused an online tempest that continues to circle days after the launch.
Lauren Sanchez who is Jeff Bezos’ fiancรฉe now uses determination to answer back against the public criticism stemming from her involvement in Blue Origin spaceflight and TikTok controversies.
As part of their suborbital voyage on Blue Originโs New Shepard rocket on April 14, Sanchez flew among five other women including Katy Perry, Gayle King, Amanda Nguyen, Kerianne Flynn and Aisha Bowe.
Numerous public figures criticised the flight right after its launch due to concerns about the wasted spending on the mission and its environmental consequences.
Among the loudest voices was actress Olivia Munn, who likened the trip to a “Disneyland ride” and slammed it as “gluttonous.”

โWhy do you need to tell us about it?โ
Munn expressed her thoughts about the space mission on Today With Jenna and Friends. The total cost of reaching space demands a significant amount of funds. Eggs are out of reach for numerous individuals since they cannot afford them.
Model and activist Emily Ratajkowski echoed the disapproval, branding the mission as โend time s**tโ on TikTok.
โYou care about Mother Earth, but you’re going up in a spaceship paid for by a company thatโs destroying the planet? Iโm disgusted,โ she said.
Lauren Sanchez refuses to stay quiet in this situation.

โI get really fired up,โ Sanchez admitted.
“The critical voices should experience the operation of Blue Origin first-hand to observe first-hand the thousands of employees who dedicated their hearts to building this spacecraft.” Work and mission at Blue Origin both bring deep devotion from the employees. Itโs a big deal for them.โ
Instead of rejecting criticism Sanchez opened the door for critics to see the operations at Blue Origin themselves.
“Trust me. Come with me. Iโll show you what this is about โ and itโs really eye-opening.”
During the space flight Gayle King joined her crew mate Sanchez to confront publicly any doubts about the mission.
King expressed that anybody who voices criticism cannot comprehend what takes place at NASA. All of us have experienced the positive reaction we get from teenage girls and young women when discussing what this achievement represents.
The inspiration which seems genuine has emerged. Rocket scientist Aisha Bowe received emotional messages from young scientists that filled her inbox after her high school counselor suggested cosmetology rather than aerospace engineering.

โThis mission is bigger than the criticism,โ Bowe said. โI went from community college math to working at NASA. To be up there sends a message to every girl who’s been told she can’t.โ
Even Katy Perry, who brought a daisy aboard as a tribute to her daughter, seemed overcome with emotion during the flight โ breaking into a rendition of โWhat a Wonderful Worldโ as the Earth came into view. She returned to Earth by placing her lips upon the ground of the desert stretch.
The Blue Origin space flight represented the first time since 1963 that a female-only crew flew to space because Valentina Tereshkova was the first woman who accomplished this achievement in 1963.
Blue Origin Specifies that Sanchez exerted crucial leadership in implementing their mission because she wanted to establish both empowerment and storytelling as her legacies.
The public debate continues but it is certain that Lauren Sanchez feels proud about her orbital journey. The space mission led her to become the first female commander since 1963 without male crew members thus breaking Valentina Tereshkova’s record.
