Amber Heard has reappeared in the public eye with a deeply personal announcement that has sparked a flurry of reactions online both joyful and sharply critical.
The 39-year-old actress, known for her role in Aquaman, marked Mother’s Day 2025 by sharing a heartfelt Instagram post that quickly went viral.
The post featured a photograph of three pairs of tiny feet—her newborn twins and her four-year-old daughter, Oonagh Paige and included an emotional reflection on her journey through motherhood.
“Mother’s Day 2025 will be one I’ll never forget,” Heard wrote. “This year, I am elated beyond words to celebrate the completion of the family I’ve strived to build for years.”

Having relocated to Spain in 2022, Heard has largely stayed out of the spotlight following her highly publicized legal battles with ex-husband Johnny Depp. The move was described as a fresh start, and according to director Conor Allyn—who worked with Heard on In the Fire—she has been “living her best life in Spain” and is “such a dedicated mom.”
In her Mother’s Day message, Heard opened up about the challenges of parenthood and fertility.
“Becoming a mother by myself and on my own terms despite my own fertility challenges… I am eternally grateful that I was able to choose this responsibly and thoughtfully,” she said.
“To all the moms, wherever you are today and however you got here, my dream family and I are celebrating with you.”
But it wasn’t the moving message that caused the internet to explode. It was the names of her newborn twins.

In the final lines of her announcement, Heard revealed:
“Today I officially share the news that I welcomed twins into the Heard gang. My daughter Agnes and my son Ocean are keeping my hands (and my heart) full.”
Almost instantly, social media was flooded with heated commentary. While some fans admired the creative and poetic names, others didn’t hold back their disapproval.
“Those poor kids,” one Instagram user wrote. “What dreadful names,” another commented. Some even went as far as to label the names as “cruel” and “the worst names ever.”

This isn’t the first time Heard has faced public scrutiny over baby names. When she introduced her daughter Oonagh to the world in 2021, similar criticism surfaced.
At that time, Heard defended her decision to become a single parent and expressed her belief in breaking traditional molds.
“I hope we arrive at a point in which it’s normalized to not want a ring in order to have a crib,” she said in her previous statement.
Despite the online backlash, Heard remains undeterred. Her message and tone suggest she is focused on raising her children in an environment built on love, resilience, and independence—no matter what critics say.

The controversy may rage on, but for Amber Heard, the only names that seem to matter now are the ones she lovingly chose for the newest additions to her family.
