Paris Jackson has long been under the spotlight, with the world speculating about her identity and background since the day she was born.
The daughter of pop icon Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe, Paris entered the world in 1998, growing up in a rare mix of global fame and intense privacy. Even as a child, she faced constant questions about who she is and where she belongs.
She has often spoken about life on her fatherโs Neverland Ranch, where she and her brothers were raised surrounded by animals, music, and lessons about compassion. Despite the fantasy-like setting, she recalls a childhood built on rules, education, and respect.

But what the public saw didnโt always match how she saw herself. With her pale complexion and light eyes, many assumed she was white. Some even questioned if Michael Jackson was her biological father, a narrative she has faced for years.
Paris, however, has never wavered in her belief about who her father is. โHe is my father. He will always be my father. He never wasnโt, and he never will not be,โ she said, adding that people who knew Michael best often say they see his mannerisms and spirit in her.
The real conversation about identity came when Paris spoke candidly about how she views her own race. In a revealing interview, she shared the words her father repeated to her as a child.

โI consider myself Black,โ Paris stated. โHe would look me in the eyes and heโd point his finger at me and heโd be like, โYouโre Black. Be proud of your roots.โโ
Paris admitted that others often see her differently. โMost people that donโt know me call me white,โ she explained, before adding that she has seen other mixed-race children with her complexion.
Her declaration wasnโt about appearance. It was about belief, legacy, and trust.

โIโd be like, โOK, heโs my dad, why would he lie to me? So I just believe what he told me. โCause, to my knowledge, heโs never lied to me,โโ she said.
And with that, Paris Jackson made her position clear. She identifies as a Black woman because thatโs how her father raised her to see herself and because those words from him were never just a reminder, they were a truth she chose to hold onto.
