A young British couple claim their marriage has never been stronger since stepping into the swinging scene. Tanya and Ashley Marum, from Leeds, say what started as a personal experiment has now grown into a booming events company attracting hundreds of people.
The pair first tried swinging so Tanya could explore her bise*uality. At the time, they limited their experiences to women but soon realized the wider community was heavily couple-based.
This led them to begin meeting other couples, something they both say deepened their bond.

Tanya explained: โI think itโs strengthened our relationship emotionally and se*ually. The original attraction was to explore being bise*ual and look for women originally. Ash said if itโs something you want to explore we can explore together and see.โ
Ashley added that the trust between them improved over time. โOur trust has increased by swinging. Every couple we know that does it feels exactly the same. Thereโs 100 percent trust and you understand what each other likes more than anything.โ
What began as casual nights out soon became something more organized. After hosting informal meetups in town, the couple noticed growing demand and began arranging larger events. Now their parties attract more than 300 people, with applications submitted through their website.

Tanya says the lifestyle has brought unexpected benefits. โItโs just such an accepting community of people. Itโs fun and itโs not all just about se* that people imagine.โ
As their events expanded, the couple introduced rules they felt would keep the atmosphere comfortable. That included one guideline which has sparked the most debate and criticism.
Ashley explained:
โI donโt want people there who the majority would think are unattractive. We want to try to get people to come that they might not be your type but theyโre nice looking and take care of themselves.โ

The requirement means every applicant must upload photos before being accepted. The Marums argue this process ensures their events maintain balance and mutual interest among attendees. But to outsiders, the policy has been branded as excluding anyone considered โugly.โ
Despite the controversy, demand for their events shows no sign of slowing. The couple insist their approach is about creating the right environment, while for them personally, swinging remains the key to trust and openness in their marriage.
Ashley summed it up simply: โYou want each other to be as happy as possible. You donโt get that very often in a normal relationship.โ
