Ultimately, they had to shell out AUD $3,000 for last-minute Jetstar tickets. Determined not to let their vacation slip away, they boarded the early morning flight, hopeful that their agony was finally over.

Surprisingly, Jetstar experienced no problems with their documents. The pair checked in smoothly, got through security, and arrived at their gate without incident. They boarded the plane, finally on their way to Bali, but with a significantly lighter wallet.
