Marina Smith, a 34-year-old model from São Paulo, Brazil, is no stranger to the spotlight.
Known for her glamorous lifestyle and crowned as a former Miss Bumbum, Marina has amassed nearly a million followers on social media.
The holiday season, usually a time for joy and celebration, has taken an unexpected turn for Marina. For years, she had looked forward to her friends’ annual Christmas dinner, a cherished tradition.
However, as plans for the gathering began to unfold this year, something felt different. Marina noticed she wasn’t being included in the usual discussions or group chats.
Her suspicions were confirmed when a friend’s boyfriend revealed a shocking truth. A separate WhatsApp group had been created to organize the dinner—one that specifically excluded her.
Marina, once a trusted member of her social circle, had been left out entirely. The reason? Her friends reportedly felt her beauty and single status posed a threat to their relationships.
“They’re worried I might tempt their husbands and boyfriends,” Marina shared with Mail Online. “I’ve been banned from Christmas dinner because the women think I’ll steal their men.”
The model expressed her hurt over the exclusion, describing it as a betrayal.
“Being single already limits my outings and trips with friends because they go out with their partners now,” she said. “But now, being single and beautiful has become an insecurity for them.”
Marina, who has been single since early 2024, reflected on her past relationship.
She revealed that her breakup stemmed from financial disagreements, including an incident where her ex-boyfriend charged her for a café bill.
“He always liked to split everything, which became exhausting,” she said. Despite this, Marina emphasized that she is not desperate for a new relationship.
“I’m very selective about the men I get involved with,” she added. “I’m not in a rush, and I’m not a needy woman.”
Marina’s exclusion from the Christmas dinner has led her to question the authenticity of her friendships. “I used to trust my friends blindly,” she explained.
“Apparently, they didn’t trust me. It’s a shame because they’re going to lose the best friend they could have had.”
The situation has also shed light on what Marina believes to be misplaced jealousy. “I’ve always respected other people’s relationships,” she said.
“I’ve never made advances toward their partners. I think it’s jealousy on their part.”
Marina shared her frustration at the assumptions made about her. “The problem isn’t with me. It’s with the men who think I am ‘too beautiful to be real.’”
As the festive season approaches, Marina remains resolute. While the exclusion has hurt her, she is determined to enjoy the holidays on her own terms.
“I hope they don’t change their minds and invite me, because the answer is no!” she declared.
“At this point, I’d rather spend Christmas alone at home. Yes, I’m a beautiful woman, but that’s not a reason to leave me out.”
This experience has left Marina reflecting on the complexities of beauty, jealousy, and friendships.
For now, she is content to focus on herself, free from the drama that has overshadowed this year’s celebrations.
