Raised in a conservative Christian Baptist town in Georgia, Moretz has often spoken about the experiences of her two gay brothers who struggled with self-acceptance.

“They tried to…‘pray the gay away’ on their own before coming out to the family, which I was unaware of during the time,” she shared.

The actress explained how these experiences helped her understand the pressures that LGBTQ+ individuals face, shaping her approach to roles and activism.

Reflecting on “Cameron Post,” she recalled a line from her character: “I don’t see myself as a homosexual. I don’t see myself as anything.”

These words echo her own outlook. “We’re all human, trying to be with the people that we fall in love with,” she shared.
