Liam Payne’s unfortunate passing has shocked fans all around the world, who are mourning the loss of the former One Direction singer.
The UK artist, who came to stardom on “X Factor,” gained millions of followers over the years thanks to his great music career.
Just two days before the deadly incident, Payne’s girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, explained why she had left him in Argentina early.
Her decision, which she announced on social media, has sparked widespread interest, particularly in light of Payne’s death.
Cassidy, who had been traveling with Payne in Buenos Aires, used TikTok on October 14 to explain her departure.
In the video, she disclosed that their planned five-day trip in Argentina had unexpectedly turned into two weeks.
“I was so ready to leave,” Cassidy stated in the video. โHonestly, love South America but I hate staying in one place for too longโฆ I need to go home.โ
Her desire to return home seems to arise from the duration of their journey.
Cassidy also videotaped her flight back to Florida, revealing glimpses of her lavish ride home. Interestingly, she mentioned her seat number as “1D,” a lighthearted reference to Payne’s time with One Direction.
Despite her early departure, Cassidy gave no indication that she and Payne had a problem.
The duo appeared to be having a good time in Buenos Aires, attending former bandmate Niall Horan’s concert together.
Cassidy also shared images from their trip, including ones of them horseback riding.
Though the trip was full of wonderful moments, Cassidy’s unease with being in one area for too long caused her to leave earlier than planned.
Cassidy returned to Florida with relief, tweeting on social media about how thrilled she was to be back.
During one segment of the video, she also mentioned that she had gotten a rash on her neck as a result of travel anxiety.
Fans sympathized with Cassidy and offered her support in the comments of her TikTok video. “Sweet girl, please remember this is not your fault,” one user wrote, while others expressed their sorrow over the tragic loss.
However, the circumstances that followed her departure turned disastrous.
Liam Payne died on October 16, two days after Cassidy departed Argentina, after falling from his third-floor hotel room at the Casa Sur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires.
According to Argentine authorities, Payne fell from a height of 13 to 14 meters.
Emergency services were dispatched following reports of a disturbance; however, efforts to revive him were futile, with officials noting that his injuries were “incompatible with life.”
Fans continue to express their shock and grief as they deal with the devastating news of Payne’s unexpected death.
The events surrounding his final days in Argentina are a sobering reminder of how rapidly life can change.
