Fans across the globe are mourning the loss of one of rock music’s most iconic voices.

Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary Black Sabbath frontman, passed away peacefully at the age of 76, surrounded by his family.

But just one day before the announcement of his death, he shared what would become his final and most emotional post on Instagram.

The rock legend had been battling several health complications in recent years, including a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease and spinal issues.

Still, he continued to stay connected with his fans, recently taking part in a powerful tribute concert that many didn’t know would be his final bow.

Ozzy performed on July 5 at Villa Park in Birmingham in a benefit show titled “Back to the Beginning.”

It brought together Black Sabbath’s original lineup — Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward — for the first time since 2005. The event also featured rock royalty like Steven Tyler, Ronnie Wood, Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, and Slayer.

The concert raised more than £140 million for charities including Cure Parkinson’s and Birmingham Children’s Hospital, marking a monumental moment in Osbourne’s career.

The stage was filled with love, nostalgia, and celebration. But it was what Ozzy did behind the scenes that now leaves fans heartbroken.

On Instagram, Ozzy quietly posted a photo of a backstage dressing-room poster from the concert. It simply read “Back to the Beginning – The Final Show” with no caption. Just a haunting image shared with the world.

A fan commented, “The Prince of Darkness Forever. We will never forget you, legend. RIP,”

The post came just days after he had been promoting the upcoming 2026 documentary Back to the Beginning: Ozzy’s Final Bow, which will celebrate his historic career and the farewell concert.

Ronnie Wood, who performed with him at the show, wrote,

“I am so very sad to hear of the death of Ozzy Osbourne, what a lovely goodbye concert he had at Back To The Beginning in Birmingham.”

Metallica also shared a tribute with a photo of Ozzy and a broken heart emoji.

Black Sabbath offered a simple but powerful message:
“Ozzy Forever.”

In a public statement, his family said,

“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.”
“He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”

With that final image now frozen in time, fans are left reflecting on the quiet power of Ozzy’s last post. A wordless farewell from a man who once roared louder than the rest.

A silent curtain call from the Prince of Darkness himself.
