British rapper and online sensation Yung Filly has gained fame as a beloved figure among millions of social media followers.
Known offstage as Andrรฉs Felipe Valencia Barrientos, the 29-year-old has made waves with collaborations alongside Beta Squad and The Sidemen.
He has also graced UK television screens, hosting shows like BBCโs *Hot Property* and *Donโt Scream*, solidifying his place in the entertainment world.
His charisma and energy have earned him a loyal following, making him a prominent online and TV personality.
Currently, he is touring Australia, where fans eagerly anticipated his performances across various cities.
However, during his time down under, the entertainer faced an unexpected and serious legal hurdle.
Earlier this month, Australian authorities detained Yung Filly in Brisbane, with no public record of past legal issues.
This arrest led to a surprising turn of events, as he was swiftly transported to Perth for a court hearing.
Legal representatives, including Perth barrister Seamus Rafferty SC, were engaged to present his defense.
In court, the prosecutor opposed his bail, citing concerns that the YouTuber could tamper with evidence or flee the country.
The prosecution revealed CCTV and photographic evidence, which they claimed strengthened their case.
Photos reportedly showed injuries on the victimโs body, with prosecutors arguing that these injuries indicated a violent confrontation.
Julius Depetro, the police prosecutor, stated, โNo ordinary person can consent in these circumstances.โ
Depetro further argued that Yung Filly’s lack of connections in Western Australia made him a flight risk.
The legal proceedings gained widespread media attention, given the YouTuberโs prominence and influence.
Despite these concerns, Magistrate Tanya Watt granted him bail under strict conditions.
Yung Filly is required to stay in Western Australia and report to the police daily.
He was also ordered to pay a significant cash surety of $100,000 AUS (ยฃ51,000) to secure his release.
In addition, he must refrain from posting about the case on social media and avoid contact with the alleged victim.
The allegations revolve around an incident that took place on September 28 in a hotel room in Perth.
After a performance at Bar120 nightclub, Yung Filly reportedly invited a woman in her 20s back to his room.
Police have charged him with four counts of sexual penetration without consent and three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm.
They also allege that he obstructed the womanโs breathing by applying pressure to her neck.
West Australian authorities continue to investigate and have urged anyone with information to come forward.
Yung Fillyโs defense team, meanwhile, has questioned the strength of the prosecutionโs evidence.
They argue that further proof is needed to substantiate the claims made against the YouTuber.
With legal battles ahead, the outcome of Yung Fillyโs case remains uncertain as he awaits further hearings.
