Raygun Set to Cash In on Viral Fame Despite Zero Olympic Score

Paris – Despite failing to impress judges at the Olympics, Australian breakdancer Raygun, whose real name is Dr. Rachael Gunn, could be on the verge of a financial windfall thanks to her viral fame.

Raygun’s Olympic debut, which marked the first appearance of breakdancing at the Games, ended with a score of zero, sparking widespread debate and mockery.

Her performance, described as “hilariously ridiculous” by viewers, included unique moves like kangaroo hopping and the ‘sprinkler’ dance.

Critics questioned her qualification, while others defended her as a symbol of the Australian spirit of resilience.

Marketing and public relations expert Max Markson told the Daily Mail Australia that Raygun’s viral status could lead to lucrative endorsement deals.

Markson said.

“Her reputation might be controversial in Australia, but internationally, she’s a star. Brands like Adidas, McDonald’s, and KFC could be lining up to offer her deals,”.

According to Markson, such endorsements could be worth up to $500,000 each, potentially making Raygun a millionaire through just a few contracts.

He also mentioned opportunities in speaking engagements and television appearances, further enhancing her financial prospects.

“She’s not just a viral sensation; she’s a well-educated professional with a PhD, which adds to her appeal,”

Raygun’s unexpected rise to fame has been accompanied by a surge in her social media following, with her Instagram numbers skyrocketing from 4,000 to over 84,000 in just a few days.

This newfound attention has also attracted high-profile support. British pop star Adele urged her fans to watch Raygun’s performance, calling it “the funniest thing ever,”

while Australian Olympic officials, including Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Olympian Anna Meares, have praised her for embodying the Olympic spirit.

Despite the harsh criticisms, including concerns about the fairness of her selection and speculation about whether her performance was a stunt,

Raygun has received encouragement from figures like Meares.

“Raygun is an absolutely loved member of this Olympic team,” Meares said. “She has represented the Olympic spirit with great enthusiasm. I’m disappointed by the negative attention she’s received.”

As the debate continues, Raygun’s performance has already been removed from the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics program, with future appearances uncertain.

Yet, the breakdancer’s viral fame seems poised to turn her Olympic disappointment into significant financial gain.
