A London-based model has sparked widespread discussion after making a bold statement about modern dating and the mistakes single women often make.
Vera Dijkmans, 27, has become a sensation on social media, earning the title of the “world’s most wanted girlfriend” after an extraordinary dating experiment.
The model, who boasts over seven million followers across various social media platforms, recently invited men to submit applications to date her.

In a move that stunned many, she received an overwhelming 5,000 applications from hopeful suitors eager to win her heart.
Despite the massive response, Vera’s high standards meant that only three men made it past her initial screening process.
Even after narrowing it down, she ultimately did not find a match, prompting her to reflect on the mistakes women make in the dating world.
Now, Vera is using her platform to offer advice to single women on how to attract the right partner while avoiding common dating pitfalls.

At the core of her advice is the emphasis on self-respect and setting clear boundaries in relationships.
She believes that many women settle for less than they deserve, often accepting poor treatment in the hopes of securing a relationship.
“Women need to have more respect for themselves and set clear boundaries with men,” Vera said in an interview with Mail Online.
One of the biggest mistakes she sees women making is agreeing to last-minute dates or accepting late-night invitations.

“You shouldn’t settle for late-night requests to ‘come over’ or going on dates where he has made no effort to plan in advance,” she explained.
For Vera, a proper date should be planned ahead of time, with the man putting in effort to create a meaningful experience.
She also believes that thoughtful gestures, no matter how small, are key indicators of a man’s sincerity and respect.
While she has received extravagant gifts, including designer pieces from Louis Vuitton and Hermès, she insists that it’s the thought that counts.

“A bouquet with flowers would also be OK. It doesn’t have to be something extravagant, but it shows that he values your time and company,” she said.
Another major red flag she warns women about is inconsistent communication, particularly from men who only message late at night.
“You shouldn’t accept behavior such as him only texting you after 10 p.m. because it shows that he doesn’t respect you,” she cautioned.
She also advises women to steer clear of men who make false promises, display double standards, or lack personal hygiene and financial responsibility.

“If they don’t take care of themselves both in terms of hygiene and finances, that’s another big red flag for me,” she stated.
Her views, however, have not come without criticism, especially from women who disagree with her high standards.
A family member even stopped speaking to her after she posted the boyfriend application, calling it “disgraceful.”
She also recalled a makeup artist refusing to work with her upon discovering that her boyfriend followed Vera on social media.

Despite the backlash, she has received support from many women who admire her confidence and refusal to settle.
Reflecting on the 5,000 applications she received, she admitted, “I’m not going to lie, it felt amazing to have so many men apply to be my boyfriend.”
While Vera acknowledges that attention from men can feel good, she has come to a striking realization about relationships.
“Getting attention from men is not the most important thing in life,” she said, emphasizing that self-worth should never be tied to male validation.
At the moment, Vera has put her search for a boyfriend on hold, choosing to remain selective about who she dates.

“I’m just very picky, and I need a guy to be almost perfect. I don’t think I should have to compromise on my needs – I’d rather be single until I find the man I’m meant to be with,” she concluded.
Her approach to dating may be controversial, but her message is clear—self-respect and high standards are non-negotiable when it comes to finding love.
