The familiar faces from Young Sheldon have long entertained audiences, but one of its stars is now stepping into the spotlight for a deeply personal reason.
At just 17, Raegan Revord is balancing a successful acting career with a passion for writing.
Revord recently released their first novel, Rules for Fake Girlfriends, a queer love story that has already captured attention.

The book follows a college student caught in an unexpected fake-dating scheme that turns into something real.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Revord spoke about the motivation behind the novel and the importance of representation.

They explained that queer stories were scarce when they were growing up, saying,
“It’s super important to use my platform to be an example of queer representation in the public eye.”
The young actor credited Alice Oseman’s Heartstopper as a major inspiration. The series showed them how authentic queer storytelling could highlight love, friendship, and chosen family in a way that felt genuine.

Revord also pointed to family influences, sharing that they were surrounded by teachers and librarians who nurtured a love for books from a young age. This environment encouraged them to write stories they believed readers would connect with.
As anticipation for the book grew, Revord spoke candidly about how they once looked to public figures for inspiration.
“Whenever I would see a celebrity come out as nonbinary or queer, I was like, ‘Oh my god, I see myself in you,’” they said.

It was in that same conversation that Revord confirmed their own truth. Revealing their identity publicly, they said it felt incredible to know they could now be that same source of hope for someone else.
“It’s so crazy to think there might be a kid out there saying, ‘I see myself in you,’ because I was once in their shoes.”
With their announcement, Revord joins a growing wave of young voices reshaping Hollywood by embracing authenticity. Alongside the release of their debut book, the moment marks a powerful chapter in both their career and their life.
